What if my child has a food allergy?

  • The safest solution for your child if they have a food allergy is to bring in your own snack and lunch from home. Bring your snack/lunch in a marked, disposable bag to the hospitality area before VBS begins and hand it to one of our hospitality shepherds.

Where do I check my child in?

  • You will need to walk in with your child and check them in and print their tags along with your parent tag in our children’s ministry hospitality area.

  • Once you have printed your child’s tags all students 2nd grade and up will be directed to head up the stairs to the West End and go to their corresponding classrooms.  Shepherds will be receiving them upstairs and making sure they get to the correct classroom.  All 1st grade, kinder, and pre-k students will need to be dropped off at their assigned classroom.

Where do I pick up my child?

  • All children 2nd grade and up will be picked up in the Big Room.  All 1st grade, kinder, and pre-k children will need to be picked up at their assigned classroom.

  • Please note that no child will be released to any adult unless the adult has the corresponding parent security tag.  If you are having a different person pick up your child from the person that checked them in, please make the necessary arrangements for them to have the parent tag with them at pick up.

When will my child receive a t-shirt if we purchase it?

  • T-shirts will be handed out on Sunday, June 23rd.  A table will be available in the children’s ministry Big Room 20 minutes prior to each service where you will be able to pick up your child’s t-shirt.

  • If you are not able to pick it up on Sunday, June 23rd your child will be given their t-shirt at dismissal on the first day of VBS.

Can I request for my child to be placed with a friend?

  • If your child and their friend are in the same grade, yes we can accommodate to that request.  However, due to the level of the activities and subjects covered in each grade level children will be placed in their corresponding grade level according to their age with no exceptions.  We ask that at the time of registration you select the correct grade level for your child according to their age. This will generally be the grade level they were in for the 2023-2024 school year. EX-If your child was born between Sept 2nd, 2014 and Sept 1st, 2015 and were in 3rd grade for the 2023-2024 school year you would select 3rd grade for their grade level. As registrations come through, we do check that your child was registered in the correct age group and if not, we will correct that on our end. Please note that purposefully selecting the wrong age group may cause your child to lose their spot as we will need to move them to the correct group and if spots have filled up, we may no longer have a space for them.

Can you accommodate a child with special needs?

  • If your child is in an inclusive classroom setting at school, can communicate, can follow simple instructions, and is potty trained yes, we can accommodate them.

Are there scholarships available?

  • While our VBS program has a cost associated with it to cover a wide variety of expenses such as crafts, snacks, and lunches, we make it available to anyone and everyone regardless of financial situation. We have a scholarship program in place to offer help to those that would be unable to pay the registration fee. Whether you are in need of help to cover the cost or you would like to sponsor a child you can email us to children@cielovista.org for more information.

What happens if my child’s grade level is no longer available on the registration form.

  • Unfortunately, we do have limited spaces in each grade level.  Registering as soon as possible is the best way to ensure a spot. If your child’s grade level is no longer available to select on the registration form, it means that all the spots have been filled.  We can place you on a waiting list but cannot guarantee a spot will open up.  Should you want to be placed on the waiting list you will need to email us to children@cielovista.org with the names, grade levels, and birthdates of the children you would like to be placed on the waiting list.
